I never thought I would struggle a day in my life...

Cassandra thought she was bettering her life for her family by taking what appeared to be a better job with an increase in her salary. She had no way of knowing that the company would soon decide to move to another state and give her very short notice leaving her without a job. While she applied for unemployment and took a bartending job for tips, she contacted a former employer and ended up getting her old job back. She needed just one month of rental assistance to stay in her apartment with her 2 young children. We were so happy that she met our program criteria and we were able to provide her with help. We just received this note from her:

“I never thought I would struggle a day in my life because of my passion and my amazing work ethic.”

To Resident Relief Foundation (fka The Gelt Foundation)

Hi,
I would like to start off by saying how grateful I am.

It’s really hard to make it on your own with being a single mom of two girls and with no help. I’ve driven myself to be a great leader to both of my kids and I’ve taught them to never depend on anyone but themselves.

I never thought I would struggle a day in my life because of the passion in my life and my amazing work ethic. I was so proud of myself.

“Resident Relief Foundation also helped me out to come up with an emergency plan because even though I am this “amazing leader“ to my kids, we cannot stop a financial crisis and it’s important to have a backup plan.”

A month ago, I lost my Job; I couldn’t believe it I felt as though everything I worked for was gone! I immediately contacted my landlord (Wasatch Property Management) and told her what had happened. Then she had referred me over to Resident Relief Foundation, I contacted them right away.

The Gelt Foundation helped me!! I was so grateful, happy and emotional!

I learned it’s ok and that there are amazing people out there that are willing to help you in a time of need. Resident Relief Foundation also talked to me and helped me out to come up with an emergency plan because even though I am this “amazing leader“ to my kids, we cannot stop a financial crisis and it’s important to have a backup plan. And now I will pass this on to my kids and teach them to save money.

I’ve learned a lot and I just wanted to say thank you!

Thank you to Resident Relief Foundation!
